Purpose:
This policy outlines the circumstances under which refund requests for events may be withheld due to Force Majeure events. The purpose is to protect both the event organizers and participants in the event of unforeseen, uncontrollable situations.

Definition of Force Majeure:
Force Majeure refers to any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of the event organizers that makes it impossible or impractical to fulfill event commitments. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, strikes, terrorism, war, civil unrest, extreme weather conditions, or any other unforeseen event that causes significant disruption to the event.

Policy Overview:
In the event of a Force Majeure situation, the event organizers reserve the right to withhold refunds for cancellations or non-attendance unless otherwise specified. This policy ensures that participants understand the conditions under which refunds will not be granted and the options available to them.

1. Conditions of Force Majeure

The event organizers will not be held liable for refunds if the event cannot be held or is delayed/cancelled due to Force Majeure events. These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, etc.)
  • Public health emergencies (pandemics, epidemics, etc.)
  • Government actions (restrictions, travel bans, etc.)
  • Acts of terrorism, war, or civil unrest
  • Other events beyond the control of the organizers that make it impossible or impractical to hold the event

2. Refund Eligibility

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or no-shows resulting from Force Majeure events, except in the following circumstances:

  • If the event is canceled entirely, and an alternative event or date is not offered, the organizer may consider partial refunds or credits.
  • If the event is rescheduled, participants may choose to attend the rescheduled event or request a credit toward a future event.
  • In cases where refunds are offered due to Force Majeure events, the amount of the refund will be at the discretion of the event organizers and may be subject to administrative costs.

3. Notification

Event organizers will provide prompt and clear communication to participants regarding any Force Majeure event that impacts the event. This will include details about the nature of the event, changes to the event schedule, or any cancellation, and any applicable next steps (e.g., options for rescheduling or receiving credits).

4. Alternatives to Refund

In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling due to Force Majeure, participants will be given the following alternatives:

  • A voucher or credit for use toward a future event hosted by the organizers.
  • The option to transfer their registration to another participant.
  • Rescheduling of the event, if possible, with the participant’s ticket remaining valid for the new event date.

5. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or purchasing a ticket for the event, participants acknowledge and agree to this policy. Participants understand that Force Majeure events may affect the event schedule and agree to the possibility of no refund being provided under such circumstances.

6. Limitation of Liability

In the case of a Force Majeure event, the liability of the event organizers is limited to the amount paid by the participant for the event, excluding any costs incurred in connection with travel, accommodations, or other incidental expenses.
